Zimmer Picture Credits

Every picture on the site, in the order it first appears, with what it shows, its photographer and licence, the pages it is on and the address of its file.

How they are chosen

The pictures here may all be reused freely: each is in the public domain or under a Creative Commons licence. Wikimedia Commons supplied all but one of them, and Flickr the other. Most of the licences ask for a credit, so each picture carries one wherever it is shown, and the list below gathers them. Every picture appears as its source published it, though a frame may crop it, and a number plate or a face that an uploader blurred or blanked before sharing stays that way.

The company's crest appears only where it is small and incidental, on a grille or a spare-wheel cover. For some subjects, the people above all, the page shows a stand-in, a Golden Spirit or a QuickSilver, and its caption says what it shows and that it is not the subject. A stand-in at the head of a page is also labelled "Stand-in" on the picture and at the start of its caption. Cars of other makes are pictured for their own sake only on the page that compares them with the Zimmer, captioned as comparisons; elsewhere one appears only beside a Zimmer, as a Cadillac does in a print of 1992.
